Michigan College of Beauty, founded in 1965, has the distinction of being among the first Pivot Point member schools. Created by international, award-winning hair designer Leo Passage, Pivot Point's more than 2,000 member schools emphasize how and why hair design fosters creativity and the ability to adapt.

Students may attend courses during the day or evening, on a full- or part-time basis. Former students rave about the quality of instruction that instills confidence in graduates, experience in its busy salon, highly trained instructors, and caring environment. Graduate Nicole writes, "This school is absolutely AMAZING … The staff are super personable and down to earth and made learning so easy. They truly care about you and your education."

Its programs include cosmetology (1,500 hours, or 12 months), nail technician (600 hours, or five months), esthetics (600 hours, or 5.5 months), and instructor training (600 hours).
